• Applications for 2008 Academia Sinica Research Award for Junior Research Investigators are now open. The deadline for this application is October 1, 2008.
• All applications must be submitted on-line (http://db3n2u.sinica.edu.tw/~textdb/program). The on-line system will not accept any application after the deadline.
• Each winner will receive a certificate in addition to a cash award of NT$200,000. An amount of NT$300,000 will also be granted for research expenditures.
• If the winning work is a joint work, a certificate will be given to each collaborator but the cash award of NT$200,000 will be shared among them. As for the research expenditures, an additional NT$100,000 will be added with each additional collaborating winner.
• Starting from the next year, the eligibility of application for the Award is modified as follows.

An applicant must have received a PH.D degree from a domestic university or college, or a PH.D degree from a foreign university or college recognized by Academia Sinica. S/he must also comply with the following requirements.

1. S/he must be under 42 years of age (on August 1 of the application year).

2. S/he must hold a full-time position (postdoctoral position is excluded) at a domestic research institute, university, or college.
