The 8th Academia Sinica Scholarly Monograph Award was announced today at the Faculty Club of Academia Sinica. Established in 2012, this award’s aspiration is to encourage scholars in the humanities and social sciences to conduct in-depth research and make important contributions to the fields. Each year, Academia Sinica recognizes a wide range of contributions to the discipline. Honoring the best, Academia Sinica presents awards for outstanding scholarship, ground-breaking insights, inspiration, and public understanding of the humanities and social science discipline. It is our great pleasure to present the 2020 award winners, who explore a vast range of ideas, challenge the preexisting frameworks, encourage readers to expand their thinking and learn more from the world around us.

During the ceremony, the four award winners presented their winning monographs. The ceremony was hosted by Vice President Dr. Chin-Shing Huang.

The award winners are listed below:
