2019 NBRP Biomed startup challenge is held by Biomedical Translation Research Center, Academia Sinica (AS-BioTReC) in collaboration with AstraZeneca, Taipei Medical University (TMU) Biomed Accelerator, and National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) GLORIA. The program would promote the acceleration of the biomedical industry, innovation in medical technology and services. TMU would be conducting clinical strategy workshop and provide clinical resources; NCKU, National Taiwan University (NTU), and National Health Research Institutes (NHRI) would provide support in team recruitment and mentoring.

Startup teams participating in the program would have the privilege to receive mentoring and support from internationally renowned institutions in the biomedical industry. Winner teams would be eligible for three months (November 2019 – January 2020) of intensive acceleration program, one-on-one academic and commercial mentoring. Throughout the program, the teams would be able to connect with prominent scientists and entrepreneurs and become part of a global network.
