It is our daily experience that casual events are ordered by time. But is this always true? Recent advances in nonlinear physics discover that causal events need not be ordered by time when there are anticipative interactions. We will introduce its underlying physics and information-theoretic tools needed for its characterization. Experiments of anticipative dynamics in biological systems will be described.
