The Institute of Mathematics invites Professor Persi Diaconis, a world-class mathematician and ex-magician, to be the speaker of Chen-Jung Hsu Lectures. From shuffling cards to random matrix theory, combinatorics and physics, he hopes to introduce the charm of mathematics to a general audience.
