Have you ever played “Bat Beats the Tiger, Chicken Eats the Worm?”
How about enjoying it as a card game?
Now I bet you haven’t played it as a card game with oracle bone inscriptions!

During Lunar New Year 2023, the Museum of the Institute History and Philology debuted a new card game with oracle bone inscriptions. Based on the game “Bat Beats Tiger, Chicken Eats the Worm,” the experience will help you enliven your New Year, have fun at the IHP Museum, and learn about oracle bone inscriptions by simply enjoying a game. Allow the IHP Museum to tell you: “This is how we play with oracle bone inscriptions!”

Stop by the Museum to participate in the “Bat Beats the Tiger, Chicken Eats the Worm” oracle bone inscription card game challenge. Successful challengers will receive—in addition to a sense of achievement—a “challenge passed” gashapon token to obtain their very own Museum gift. The Elephant Letter Opener, notebooks featuring classics collections and national treasures, popular Museum Gashapon gifts, and even the Formosan Clouded Leopard mug are all waiting for successful challengers to bring them home!

No registration required. Visit the Museum during the event period to take the challenge head-on!

Event Period: February 1 to March 29, 2023.
Opening hours: 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday
