The research teams of Dr. Shih-Chieh Hung at China Medical University, and Dr. Han-Chung Wu at the Institute of Cellular and Organismic Biology, Academia Sinica, collaborated to discover new strategies of diagnosis and therapy for osteoarthritis(OA). They successfully developed osteoarthritic collagen-binding peptides and a Bifunctional peptide, which have good potential in regenerative medicines for early diagnosis, therapy, and regeneration for OA. These peptides can also be used to facilitate regeneration of injured corneal epithelium and endothelium in place of corneal transplantation. The study was published in Nature Biomedical Engineering in October, 2022.
