Introduction:
Between 1622 and 1624, Pescadores became a focus of attentions of East Asian maritime forces. The VOC dispatched a fleet to attack Macao, occupied Pescadores and thus dragged it into the commercial and military rivalry of the Spaniards, Portuguese and Dutch. The termination of this action inaugurated a shared history of Taiwan and Pescadores. Thereafter, Taiwan slowly stepped into an Era with state governance. An international conference will be held to commemorate its 400th anniversary.
