Professor Jules A. Hoffmann, President of the French National Academy of Sciences, accompanied by Dr. Cheng-Chen Chen, Vice Chancellor of University System of Taiwan, will visit Academia Sinica on Wednesday, September 10, 2008.
During his visit Prof. Hoffmann will call on Vice President Chao-Han Liu and visit the Genomics Research Center and the Institute of Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Chung-Hsuan Chen, Director of the Genomics Research Center, Director Yuan-Tsong Chen, Dr. Yi-Ling Lin, and Dr. Shuen-lu Hung of Institute of Biomedical Sciences will exchange their academic experiences with Prof. Hoffmann. A luncheon will be hosted by President Wong at the Center of Academic Activities.
Prof. Hoffmann is a leading world expert on innate immunity and received the Robert Koch Prize in 2004 and the prestigious Balzan Prize together with Bruce A. Beutler for innate immunology in 2007.
