Introduction to Dr. Leo Esaki:
Dr. Leo Esaki, recipient of the 1973 Nobel Prize in Physics and currently Chairman of the S & T Promotion Foundation of Ibaraki, Tsukuba, was conferred the title of Honorary Academician of Academia Sinica in 2008. A renowned Japanese physicist, Dr. Esaki was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his pioneering work on electron tunneling in solids.
