Dr. Pei-yu Chen received her Ph.D. from the Department of Anthropology, Pittsburgh University. As an anthropological archaeologist trained in both Taiwanese and Andean archaeology, her long-term research interest is to reveal ancient lifestyles and the dynamic processes of the emergence of complex societies. Dr. Chen’s dissertation depicts a unique life history and developmental trajectory of a fishing community in Peru. Founded on her previous work, Dr. Chen’s future research scope will also incorporate archaeological data from Taiwan, thereby building a comparative perspective that would further contribute to debates and discourses on archaeological topics of interest on a global stage.
