Chromatin organization and dynamics underlie various important nuclear activities. Dr. Chia-Lung Hsieh’s research team at Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences,Academia Sinca has developed a novel optical microscope technique that enables high-resolution chromatin imaging in live cell nuclei without the need of labeling. This new technique measures the linear scattering signal from the unlabeled chromatin. By analyzing the temporally dynamic signal, a high-resolution chromatin map is reconstructed. Collaborating with cell biologists, the team explores important nuclear biology, including cancer and aging.
