On December 24, 2021, Academia Sinica Academician I-Chiu Liao was named as recipient of the National Taiwan Ocean University’s 9th Outstanding Contribution Award for the Oceans. Dr. Liao has dedicated his life to aquaculture research, and is a pioneering figure in the Taiwan aquaculture industry who has contributed greatly to the cultivation of new talent.

The Outstanding Contribution Award for the Oceans was established in 2013 to recognize notable individuals who have made significant contributions to Taiwan’s oceans, shipping, and aquaculture industries.
