Dr. Mu-Huai Fang received his Ph.D. from the Department of Chemistry, National Taiwan University. His research focused on the development of narrowband visible-light phosphors and broadband infrared phosphors. He utilized chemical tuning and structural analysis to understand the relationship between structural evolution and photoluminescence. He also used synchrotron X-ray technologies to understand the macroscopic and microscopic changes of the materials. Finally, he conducted the LED package to evaluate the potential of the developed phosphor materials, achieving high color gamut backlighting and infrared-related applications.

After joining the Green Technology Research Group of the Research Center for Applied Sciences, the Fang lab aims to develop luminescent materials in not only the phosphor but also the quantum dot materials. He will evaluate the potential of the as-prepared luminescent materials in light-sensing technology and component analysis technology. In addition, Dr. Fang will also expand his research to develop the materials for solid-state batteries, hoping to make contributions to green technology-related research fields.

Dr. Fang was appointed as an Assistant Research Fellow of the Research Center for Applied Sciences since August, 2021.
