Dr. Norman Y. Teng, Research Fellow of the Institute of European and American Studies (IEAS), will take over as the new Director on August 1, 2018. The Director Handover Ceremony will be held on August 1 (Wednesday) at 2:00 p.m., in the first floor Conference Room of the IEAS.

Dr. Teng joined the IEAS faculty as Associate Research Fellow in 2000, and was promoted to Research Fellow in 2007. Dr. Teng has received the Distinguished Research Award of the Ministry of Science and Technology twice, and served as the Director General of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Science and Technology since 2011. Dr. Teng’s areas of expertise include civic and political philosophy, metaphor, philosophy of mind and language, and philosophy of cognitive science.
