Dr. Chien-Ming Chi received his Ph.D. from the Department of Economics, National Taiwan University. During his doctorate course, he worked in Prof. Ching-Kang Ing’s research team and focused on theoretical statistics. After graduation, Dr. Chi started his research work on machine learning in Prof. Fan Yingying and Prof. Lv Jinchi’s research team at the University of Southern California.

During his postdoctoral research, Dr. Chi made a breakthrough in high-dimensional random forests consistency and inference and received the 2022 IMS New Researcher Travel Award. Dr. Chi will continue his research in theory and applications of machine and statistical learning at Academia Sinica.

Dr. Chien-Ming Chi has been an assistant research fellow at the Institute of Statistical Science since May, 2022.
