LANGUAGE AND LINGUISTICS Accepted for Listing in SSCI and A&HCI Indexes

The Institute of Linguistics at the Academia Sinica was informed on June 12, 2008 that Language and Linguistics, a world-class quarterly journal published by the Institute, was accepted for listing in SSCI and A&HCI indexes, and retrospectively indexed to January 2007 (Vol. 8, No.1). Online searching is already available at this website: http://www.sinica.edu.tw/~libserv/aslib/database/database1.html.

As is well known, the evaluation processes for academic journals to be covered in the SSCI and A&HCI are extremely stringent, the average rejection rate being 90%. The news came as a timely reward for the dedication and cumulative efforts of the Institute to launch and run this journal. With the journal Language and Linguistics now covered by the ISI's Web of Knowledge database service, it is hoped to gain more international visibility and academic impact in the future.
