The National Science Council (NSC) has recently announced the recipients of the 2006 Distinguished Research Awards. Out of the thirty-five recipients, seven are from the Academia Sinica. Each recipient will be awarded a cash prize of NT$500,000 together with a certificate. The recipients from the AS are as follows:

1. Dr. Ting-Fang Wang, Assistant Research Fellow, Institute of Biological Chemistry
2. Dr. Hsiu-Ming Shih, Associate Research Fellow , Institute of Biomedical Sciences
3. Dr. Wen Chang, Research Fellow, Institute of Molecular Biology
4. Dr. Kuan-Chung Huang, Research Fellow, Institute of History and Philology
5. Dr. Shin-Kun Peng, Research Fellow, Institute of Economics
6. Dr. Yann-Huei Song, Research Fellow, Institute of European and American Studies
7. Dr. Ayling Wang, Research Fellow and Deputy Director, Institute of Chinese Literature and Philosophy
