The modern dance troupe Tai-Gu Tales Dance Theatre was established in 1987 by choreographer and artistic director Lin Shiu-wei. Tai-Gu has won international acclaim for its thought-provoking performances that fuse meditation and dance. This performance entitled “Dreamland – A Dance Pilgrimage of Body, Mind and Spirit” aims to engage the audience. Tai-Gu dancers blend traditional and contemporary forms of dance with stage settings depicting the elements of nature. The elegant and joyous overture announces the overarching theme of this performance: primordial nature and the harmony between heaven, earth and mankind. Wind is another common theme that runs through the four ensuing dances, namely Phoenix Dance, Stony Forest, Dreamland and Aurora. This is a truly impressive performance that you won’t want to miss.
