The Li Foundation was founded in 1944 by Kuo Ching Li and his four brothers of the Wah Chang Corporation and was incorporated in the state of New York to promote friendly relations between the United States and R.O.C.. The Foundation invites academic institutions in the United States and R.O.C. to participate in a sister relationship to sponsor a student or scholar. The Heritage Prize encourages the students to return to Taiwan.
- Candidates must have returned to Academia Sinica from U.S. in 2006, or be returning shortly.
- There is no age limit, but preference is given to young scholars under the age of 40.
- Candidates must have made outstanding contributions to academic research in the fields of science or humanities.
The Academic Advisory Committee will recommend the most qualified nominees to the President of Academia Sinica for final selection of up to three candidates.
- Candidate's name, age, CV, the date of his/her return to Academia Sinica, research field, and materials relevant to his/her academic achievements. There is no form to fill in.
- A letter of recommendation (in Chinese and English) written in the name of the Institute, Preparatory Office, or Research Center.
- A letter of recommendation from the candidate's dissertation advisor or colleague.
