Research Fellow Dr. Chih-Yu Chiu has been selected for the 2017 Dedicator of Forestry and Nature Conservation. Dr. Chiu specializes in Plant Ecology, Soil Biochemistry and Biogeochemistry. To observe the soil structure and probe lake ecology, Dr. Chiu goes from high mountains to beaches and islands around the country for two decades. Furthermore, he upgrades the ecologic research methods in Taiwan by importing international techniques such as Radionuclide Detection, Electron Probe Microanalysis and the Grid. Dr. Chiu has published more than 100 academic articles so far, and more than 90 articles among those are published in Science Citation Index. As the editor of Journal of Forest Research and Microbes and Environments, he also helps promote international academic researches internally.
