Applications for the 2008 2nd Session Post Doctoral Research Fellowships are Now being Accepted

Starting from 15th Jan. 2008, all applications are to be processed on-line ( http://db3n2u.sinica.edu.tw/~textdb/program ) so it is unnecessary to send hard copies of application materials. All applications must be submitted between 15th Jan. and 1st Mar. Appointment of post doctoral research fellows for this session commences on July 1st, 2008.

If an applicant has not yet received a doctoral degree, he or she needs to provide a letter from his or her thesis supervisor confirming the completion of thesis and defense. It must be ensured that three letters of recommendation to be received by Academic Affairs Office (AAO) by 1st March.

If an applicant's affiliation does not belong to the Division of Mathematics and Physical Sciences, he or she may also apply under this Division if his or her research involves mathematical or scientific content.

A principal investigator may apply for as many post doctoral fellows as he or she wishes. However, one project is limited to one application only.

For research in an institute within the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences, applicants are required to submit a 5000 ~ 6000 words of proposal specifying the aim, significance, background, and method adopted in the study. A research plan lacking sufficient thought will adversely influence the result of an application.

For more information, please contact Ms. Chuang Su-Fen of AAO, phone number 02-2789-8065, or visit the website: http://aao.sinica.edu.tw/english/pro_pfp.html
