Director Ko-wu Huang, Research Fellow of the Institute of Modern History, is going to the United States for academic affairs from August 2-14, 2011. During his absence, Deputy Director May-li Lin is the acting director.

Director Maw-Kuen Wu, Distinguished Research Fellow of the Institute of Physics, is going to China to attend an international conference from August 11-13, 2011 and to Italy to attend an academic conference from August 18-27, 2011. During his absence, Deputy Director Yang-Yuan Chen and Research Fellow Chi-Yee Cheung are the acting directors.
