The Mechanisms of Anti-IgE Medication in Treating Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria
 

Dr. Tse Wen Chang, Distinguished Research Fellow of Genomics Research Center, invents the anti-IgE drug omalizumab (trade name Xolair). Its primary function lies in its binding to IgE, which is an antibody inside human body that has been identified as a major mediator of several allergic symptoms. The fields of dermatology and clinical immunology are puzzled how Xolair can treat Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU).
