Director Paul Ho, Distinguished Research Fellow of Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics (Preparatory Office), is going to the United States and Canada for academic affairs from October 28 to November 15, 2009. During his absence, Associate Research Fellow Shiang-Yu Wang is the acting director.

Director Shaw Chen Liu, Distinguished Research Fellow of Research Center for Environmental Changes, will go to China for academic affairs from November 17 to 20, 2009. During his absence, Deputy Director George Tin-Fuk Wong is the acting director.
