Academician Ovid J. L. Tzeng has been awarded Honorary Doctorate Degrees by National Yang-Ming University on September 30 2009 and by National Chung Cheng University on October 24 2009.
Dr. Tzeng, who is a Distinguished Research Fellow of the Institute of Linguistics, was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Science by National Yang-Ming University on September 30 and an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Social Science by National Chung Cheng University on October 24. Dr. Tzeng was honored for his outstanding academic achievements in cognitive psychology and neurolinguistics, in particular for his creation and establishment of world class frontier research platforms for studies in Cognitive Neuroscience in Taiwan.
Dr. Tzeng currently serves as a Minister without Portfolio. He is a Fellow of the prestigious Association for Psychology Science. He is also currently a council member of the European Research Council, and a member of the Committee on Freedom and Responsibility in the conduct of Science of the International Council for Science (2006-2009& 2009-2011). He was the first psychologist to be elected as the Academician in Academia Sinica in 1994.
