Dr. Ku-ming Chang, Associate Research Fellow of the Institute of History & Philology at Academia Sinica, has been selected as a 2011-2012 Harvard-Yenching Visiting Scholar. The Visiting Scholars Program offers faculty the opportunity to conduct 11 months of research at Harvard University and provides a stipend. Dr. Chang’s research focuses on the history of science in early modern Europe and intellectual history. The title of the research proposal which he plans to pursue at Harvard is “Politics of Life and Science: Nationalism, Internationalism and Appropriations of Vitalism in Chinese Modernization Discourses, 1918-1932.”
