Academician Paul O.P. Ts’o Passed Away in Baltimore, Maryland at Age 81
 

Academician Paul O.P. Ts’o of the Division of Life Sciences passed away on December 2, 2009 at the Johns Hopkins Hospital at age 81.  Ts’o was a renowned biologist, specializing in biophysics, biochemistry, and cancer diagnosis and treatment.  He was elected as an Academician of Academia Sinica in 1972.

Ts’o was born in 1929.  He graduated from Lingnan University in 1949 and received his Master from Michigan State University in 1951.  In 1955 he earned his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology.  Ts’o was a researcher and senior research fellow at the California Institute of Technology.  He was also a senior associate in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 12, 2009 in Ellicott City, Maryland, U.S.A.
