Dr. Te-Hsing Shan, Distinguished Research Fellow and Director of the Institute of European and American Studies, Academia Sinica won this year’s Academic Award by the Ministry of Education for the “Humanities and Arts” category. Each recipient receives an honorary certificate and NT$600,000. The award ceremony will be held in December of this year.

The Academic Award, established by the Ministry of Education, is to encourage academic research and enhance academic standards. The award is bestowed upon citizens of the Republic of China who have been recognized by academia for their significant contributions or outstanding accomplishments in domestic academic research.
