Applications for the 2015 Thematic Research Program will be accepted from January 6th to March 17th, 2014. All applications are processed on-line through the Academic On-Line Service System.
Thematic program projects should complement the mid-and long-term academic and research and development goals of Academia Sinica. Co-authored innovative interdisciplinary collaboration projects will also be considered. The final assessments on applications will be announced in September, 2014, and projects shall commence on January 1st, 2015. Project directors and sub-project investigators should sign an Agreement before the project starts.
Applicants can carry out a maximum of 2 projects funded by the Thematic Research Programs, Sustainability Science Research Programs, Academia Sinica Investigator Awards, and Innovative Translational Agricultural Research Programs from 2015 to 2017. Investigators of Academia Sinica Investigator Awards cannot be project directors or co-investigators of Thematic Research programs. At least 1/3 of sub-project principal investigators should be full-time employees of Academia Sinica. To facilitate close academic cooperation between AS research fellows and the universities joining the Degree Program, faculty from local universities collaborating with the Academia Sinica Degree Program (these must be at the level of Assistant Professor or above and jointly-appointed by Academia Sinica) may act as project directors, in accordance with the faculty list provided by the Executive Committee of the Academia Sinica Degree Program. In addition, the project must have an AS research fellow as its project co-director.
