　　Candidates must be nominated by members of the Advisory Committee or heads of the individual Institutes. Direct applications will NOT be accepted.

　　The nominated candidate must be a faculty of Academia Sinica (namely distinguished research fellow, research fellow and associated research fellow) with the recognition as an independent and qualified investigator. Current Directors of Institutes and Research Centers shall not be nominated as candidates. The nominated candidates shall have no more than 2 projects (including sub-project) currently funded by Academia Sinica (Investigator Award, Thematic Research Program, Sustainability Science Research Projects).

　　The review process includes a preliminary review and a secondary review. Please refer to “instructions for preliminary review of Academia Sinica Investigator Award, 2014” for preparing documents required for the nomination. All documents should be completed in English for Divisions of Mathematics and Physical Sciences and Life Sciences. For Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences, the application documents can be written in language with which experts in relevant fields are familiar. All materials prepared for the nomination must be delivered to Academic Affairs Office by May 31, 2013.

　　The letter of recommendation should be sent directly to Ms. Ching-Ping Hsu of Office of Academic Affairs by May 31, 2013. Applicants who pass the preliminary review will be officially notified and asked to submit the completed proposals for the secondary review.
