To encourage excellent research in humanities, the China Foundation for the Promotion of Education and Culture provides a yearly grant of US $15,000 for Dr. Hu Shih Memorial Chair in Academia Sinica. Applicants should hold a position of Associate Research Fellow or above in Academia Sinica, with an area of expertise in humanities. Evaluation will be made by the Committee of Dr. Hu Shih Memorial Chair, chaired by Vice President Ts'ui-jung Liu. The grantee is obligated to deliver the Memorial Lecture in honor of former President Hu Shih in 2009.
Applications can be submitted directly by applicants, or through research institutes; the Committee of Dr. Hu Shih Memorial Chair can also make recommendations. Each application must include a curriculum vitae, a list of academic publications, a research plan, and three representative publications.
