The debt crises in Europe and the United States have resulted in a pessimistic outlook for the world’s economy in the last half of 2011. How will Taiwan’s economy be affected in this severe global economic environment? The Macroeconomic Forecast Team from the Institute of Economics presented their “2012 Taiwan Economic Forecast” on December 29, 2011. The presentation was delivered in Chinese.
Research Fellow Ray Y. Chou presented the group’s findings which focused on Taiwan’s economic policy, GDP, consumption and private investment. An English abstract as well as the whole address in Chinese is available on the Institute of Economics’ website and will also be published in the “Taiwan Economic Forecast and Policy” periodical.
