Dr. David Ho, Academician of the Division of Life Sciences, was awarded the Honorary Doctorate Degree by National Yang Ming University on February 27, 2008 for his dedicated contributions to antiretroviral therapy. Academician David Ho also gave a speech titled "Reflections of a Physician Scientist" at the conferment ceremony.
Academician Ho, most recognized for the elucidation of the dynamic nature of HIV replication in infected persons, was Time Magazine’s Person of the Year in 1996. He is currently the scientific director of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center in the USA.
