Time: 19:00, Friday, January 19, 2018 (Admission time starts at 18:30) Venue: 1F Auditorium, Center of Academic Activities, Academia Sinica Performer: Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra Admission: Free Introduction: Founded in October 2000, a group of young professional musicians who are passionate about the art of traditional Chinese music recruited by the music director and conductor Chih-Sheng Chen, to form the Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra. The LGCCO’s preparation is mainly the traditional stringed and woodwind instruments, and actively promotes the Chinese music. In recent years, the LGCCO has been invited to the United States to participate in the “2015 International Festival of National Music,” and “2015 Vancouver Jazz Festival.” In 2016, it was also invited to Thailand, Canada and South Korea to participate in local art festivals, and has been highly recognized for its excellent performance quality. The LGCCO has since matured into an ensemble of both technical and artistic proficiency. It strives to demonstrate the energy and passion of its dedicated new generation musicians with every performance. The LGCCO breathes new life into an art form that holds ancient roots, and devotes itself to promoting Chinese music on the world stage. The audiences are expecting to experience a wonderful evening.
