Dr. Shu-Hsing Wu, Assistant Research Fellow of the Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology, has been promoted to Associate Research Fellow, effective July 22, 2008.

Dr. John Yu, Distinguished Research Fellow of the Institute of Cellular and Organismic Biology, has been appointed Acting Director of the Institute, effective August 1, 2008.

The secondment of Dr. Kuan Chung Huang, Research Fellow of the Institute of History and Philology, to serve as Vice President and Director of the Research Centre of Humanities and Social Sciences at National Chung Hsing University has been approved for a three-year term, effective August 1, 2008.

Dr. Liang-Tsai Wei has been appointed Adjunct Research Fellow of the Institute of European and American Studies, effective August 1, 2008.

Dr. Yu-Shan Wu, Distinguished Research Fellow of the Institute of Political Science (Preparatory Office), has been appointed Acting Director of the Institute, effective August 1, 2008.
