Kupa Orchestra, Taiwan’s first big jazz band, was established by Teng-Hwei Hsieh in 1953. Through the leadership of the current band director, Ben Chiu, Kupa Orchestra has made continuous efforts to present fantastic music to its audiences. In addition to its accomplished jazz performances, the band is also known for its masterful performances of latin music, folk songs, ballroom dance music, world-famous songs, new interpretations of classical music, variations of Taiwanese and Mandarin songs, and Samba and Para dance tunes that young audiences have much enjoyed in recent years. This performance includes classic Taiwanese and Mandarin songs such as A Rose’s Wish, Shangri-la, Peach Blossom Village, and Farewell at the Shore. This remarkable concert will bring you the charm of Latin jazz.
