As a leading research institution in Taiwan, Academia Sinica is charged with one key mission of achieving academic excellence and benefiting human society with its research results. Considering the fact that Taiwan is projected to become a super-aged society in 2025, with more than 20% of its population aged 65 or older, Academia Sinica has joined forces with the global community in the Healthy Longevity Grant Challenge Competition initiated by the US National Academy of Medicine. We support the spirit highlighted by this Competition to promote breakthrough innovations that lead to paradigm-shift discoveries to prevent or cure diseases, increase quality of life, and minimize the negative impacts of an aging population. In Taiwan, Academia Sinica and the Ministry of Science and Technology have formed an alliance to promote this project. This competition consists of three phases:<\/p>\n
