The VOC dispatched a fleet to attack Macao, occupied Pescadores and thus dragged it into the commercial and military rivalry of the Spaniards, Portuguese and Dutch. The termination of this action inaugurated a shared history of Taiwan and Pescadores. Thereafter, Taiwan slowly stepped into an Era with state governance.
