Launched in 2002, the TIGP program integrates cutting-edge interdisciplinary research topics, first-class facilities, top-notch faculty and the multi-cultural environment available at Academia Sinica into a learning environment where English is the first language. The program currently has 609 students enrolled in twelve Ph.D. programs. Many of the students enrolled in TIGP come from overseas (currently hailing from 45 countries).
TIGP is run by Academia Sinica in collaboration with Taiwan’s top research universities: National Tsing Hua University, National Taiwan University, National Central University, National Chung Hsing University, National Chiao Tung University, National Defense Medical Center, National Yang-Ming University, National Taiwan Normal University, National Cheng Kung University and National Chengchi University. The certificate conferred by Academia Sinica is given in addition to the diploma conferred by the collaborating university.
